The Path To Your Full Licence
Once you have your CBT, further training and a DSA theory test is essential before you attempt your test. For under 21's training will take place on 125 cc machines aiming for a 33bhp licence (this does upgrade after 2 years).
For the over 21's Direct Access Training (DAS) on 500cc (47bhp) machines is available, leading to an unrestricted licence. Once your training is completed, you are ready for your test.
In motorcycling there is no substitute for experience and your skills will increase as practical experience grows.
The Theory Test
All new riders must complete a DSA theory test before undertaking the practical test. WPM have the latest interactive revision aids and on-site, free, theory practice facilities. We can also pre-book theories anywhere in the UK and Northern Ireland.
We can supply you with all the books, DVD's and learning material you will need to pass your theory test.
The Test
Your Department of Transport motorcycle test will take the form of a ride with an examiner following you by bike giving instructions via a radio link. Your examiner will be looking for confidence, good road awareness and machine control and questions will be asked on machine safety and checks and the carriage of pillion passengers. After passing your test on a 125cc machine you can ride any machine up to 33bhp.
If you pass on a 500cc (47bhp) machine you can ride any power output. Upgrade courses from 33bhp output are available.
