Dear all,

I would just like to thank you for the service that you provided... the weather was cold and miserable but soldier forward we did!

I Just wanted to personally thank Dave for putting me on the four day DAS course and training me through out.

Day 1 CBT

Day 2 Training

Day 3 Training and Mod 1

Day 4 Training and Mod 2 PASSED ALL FIRST TIME

The training that was provided was everything I expected and more, everything was directed to what we needed to work on and not repetitive.

I would most definitely recommend the 4 day DAS course with you has the provider to absolutely anyone.

Again, thanks to you all at West Pennine Motorcycle Training.

Kind Regards

Hi Dave, Alan, Terry and Chris

I didn't get chance as was late Friday the 16th September at approx. 3.45pm when I finished my test and got back to the yard and you had all finished for the weekend.

I just wanted to say that after initially failing my Mid 1 - because I didn't listen properly rather than something I couldn't do i.e. Did not park my front wheel in between the cones and put the whole Bike in it - I then smashed Mod 1 with 1 minor and Mod 2 with 1 minor also.

Just wanted to say - as I didn't get chance as you all had left and Chris locked up on that Friday when we got back - CHEERS for all your help and guidance and I knew on the day as I was taking the Mod 2 ( without being Big- headed ) that I would pass, as it went so well as I was doing it, and could hear Dave and Alan's voice in my head stating: Not to close to cars, more life savers, two second rule etc and that carried me through as I was; On it and focused.

So cheers for all the advice, help and training It did the job and if you were surprised then so was BLOODY I !

Off on a Cruise next week to celebrate and just bought myself a Kawasaki ER6N - 2104 plate, 1303 Miles on clock ( Nearly new ) in Black & Green and get it next week or week after.

Thanks to all and keep up the good work

Kind Regards

Hi guys

Would just like to say a big thanks for the excellent training provided by yourselves

What a great bunch of instructors you have their manner is second to none keeping things simple safe and most of all enjoyable.

You got me in when no one else could and even though i had ridden on a cbt for 18 months the bad habits soon disappeared and I passed both mod 1 + 2 first time

Thanks again

Hi Yvonne

I just wanted to say a big thanks to all the team that help to train me and help me pass the test

Thanks a million.

21 Jul 2016

Thanks to the guys at West Pennine Motorcycle Training. They took me, a complete novice through CBT and onto passing my A2 licence in 6 days.

Starting on the first day with a super warm welcome, making me feel relaxed, and involved. They started slowly, and progressively. Taking me from a wobbly stop start, learning simple clutch control, through weaving through cones, and managing the rear break. Each step carefully gauged to build on the previous.

On the second day I was on the road and completed my CBT.

They generated a huge sense of trust, they were teaching me to ride a bike, not just prepping me to pass a test, I knew that by trusting their guidance, I would gain life saving skills.

Every day spent with the instructors, cemented the realisation they were making me safe on the road, their never ending enthusiasm, dedication and humour made each day pass quickly.

I passed, with one minor fault on the Mod 1 and no minor faults on the Mod 2.

I will remember their advice and guidance as I pick my first bike and begin riding on my own.

The biggest thanks.

01 Jul 2016

Just a quick note to thank Alan for the advanced / refresher training today. top bloke! I really felt I learned a lot and fell a lot more confident on my new bike.

25 Jun 2016

Thanks to everyone at West Pennine for their support in getting me to the level to pass both my mod 1 and mod 2 tests.

Special thanks to the geezer from the freezer who is so chilled out - and gave me a brilliant understanding of how to use the bike and the many techniques on how to be a good rider.

Mod 2 test day came - and I rode the way you guys taught me - and passed with no drama - thanks so much for all your support.

I will be booking in for some advanced training once I take delivery of my new motorbike - thank you once again

06 Jun 2016

I had very good experience with them I learnt a lot from them I had never drive bike in UK before I went to the training centre .

I use to drive in India but the amount of things we must learn and they taught me good .

passed my full motor bike licence in 5 days from CBT MOD 1 and MOD 2

Full credits goes to the staff they have a very friendly people to train everyone

I will recommend to any one

05 May 2016

I was very nervous when I first started the DAS course and at one point was even considering quitting, but the constant encouragement and dedication of the guys at West Pennine got me through to first time passes on my Mod1 and Mod2 tests. The training centre is a good size and prepares you well for the Mod1 test. They also have a good selection of well maintained bikes. I had undertaken my CBT with another training school but changed as I found their methods too intense. This proved to be the right decision as I passed both tests with only 3 minor faults. So if you want friendly professional first class training look no further than West Pennine and the rides around Blackburn are not bad either.

29 Apr 2016

Tried to book an intensive course in South Yorkshire and best quote was £160 dearer with no firm test dates. West Pennine offered guaranteed test dates and free accommodation at an unbeatable price.

The staff and instructors I had were first rate from initial contact to completion of training and the guest house was spotless and served the best breakfast the wrong side of the Pennines. I would recommend the DAS course to anyone who appreciates the effort needed to achieve the standard required to pass the tests. Maybe not for people who think they can just simply turn up and walk away with a full licence.

Thanks to all at West Pennine and the legend at the St Albans Guest House.

27 Apr 2016

What can I say I did my home work on training schools for my direct access course West Pennine came top of the list and highly recommended and now I can see why. With one quick and easy phone call my course was booked they sorted me with bed and breakfast with a fantastic host. They have a good training set up for doing your cbt and mod 1 training fantastic instructors with plenty of patience and a good array of bikes from 125 cc up to 600cc I spent the three days on and off road training and passed my course 1st time I have had great pleasure passing on the details to friends and colleagues and will have no problem ever of passing on there details SO DONT LOOK ELSEWHERE call West Pennine straight away there is no one else

16 Mar 2016

A big thanks("that would be a test fail" words I heard less and less and less as my training my went on), ( don't think I didn't see you hitting your face with your hand when I couldn't start a bike on the CBT but under whose expert tutelage I managed to pass the CBT the next day) and the other instructors at West Pennine.

In 6 days I went from somebody who had never ridden a bike to being fully qualified.

My advice for anybody taking the course is listen to the instructors they're the experts and do know best, do what they say and I'm sure you will pass.

I promise I will bring my Ural for Al to have a go in once I get it.

21 Jan 2016

Professional, knowledgeable trainers who got me through my direct access. Passed the module 2 test with only 1 minor and hadn't sat on a motorbike for 20 years until turning up at West Pennine the week before.

Would highly recommend, they even got me time in the module 1 test area the day before my test.

24 Dec 2015

I hadn't been on a motorbike before and West Pennine were great. They don't just teach you how to ride the bike, they equip you with all the skills and knowledge that will allow you to enjoy and appreciate your bike in the safest way possible.

The person I dealt with did a fantastic job ensuring you got the lessons and test slots you wanted.

The other person I dealt with and the guys were the font of all knowledge and will ensure you do it right and know your stuff ahead of your tests.

Prices are reasonable and I would not hesitate in recommending them

31 Aug 2015

Hi .

Just like to drop a line to say thanks to You all for getting me from zero, through Mod2. All extremely professional individuals.

And lots of very good (life saving) advice from all 3, not just to pass the test but to ensure a safe ride in the future.

Always got the impression that safety was of utmost concern.

Thanks Again.

15 Aug 2015

Just got my CBT this morning 15/8/15 after a pretty bad first attempt on the 12th. Went back and did it ok. I would like to thank the advisor for his patience with me and explaining everything clearly. For someone who has never even sat on a bike let alone ridden one on a public highway I was rather nervous but was put at ease by the way he spoke about how to approach riding on the road. Once again thank you very much. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend West Pennine

19 May 2015

Dear WPM Training,

I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to the team for my bike training and enabling me to pass my test. Thanks for all the great tuition, for making the training and test arrangements and for keeping me well informed throughout.

I will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who asks me where to go for bike training.

All the best for the future!

05 May 2015

West Pennine are without doubt an exceptional motorcycle training school,

during my direct access course i had not been on a bike for over ten years and within 5 days of instruction passed my full test.

They where extremely help full with everything i needed and i would recommend anyone who lives near or far, that if you want to get quality training then use these.

Big Thanks To All The instructors and staff at West Pennine,

All The Best..

29 Apr 2015

Hello All,

Just quick message to say a big thanks to all at West Pennine Training. I found the whole set up thoroughly professional, attention to detail was great, including making sure I had everything I needed for each day and the back up phone calls to ensure everything went smoothly before each test, theory , Mod 1 and Mod 2, greatly appreciated . I want to offer special thanks to my trainer who I was assigned to on each of my three days training. His manner is calming and reassuring. His instruction and feed back practical, positively critical and directive ensuring progression (to use a test term) and increased confidence with a matter of fact no nonsense approach . As you can guess I passed my Mod Two, but had I not I would not hesitate to book another days training with the team.

once again

Many thanks to all

21 Apr 2015

Just like to say thanks to the guys I dealt with for all the help with my mod1 and 2 very patient and super helpful with me and i passed my mod2 with NO MINORS!!! I was over the moon thanks guys ill be recommending you to all my friend really couldn't fault them in any way at all

08 Mar 2015

First time bike user and can I say the patience and confidence given by the instructors were brilliant. Clear and effectively I was told what I needed to do as well as having a friendly attitude made it a much better environment to ride a motorbike in. When on road they had radios telling me where I needed to go and what I needed to do better next time, I felt safe and confident with there training and past! I just want to thank all the instructors at West Pennine they deserve a pat on the back for the hard work they do!

25 Feb 2015

First time on a manual bike and I have to say how comfortable I felt being trained by people who had a great knowledge of motorbikes. I didn't feel rushed at all by the instructor and could take my time when I was struggling at first, detailed explanations on what I needed to do got me there in the end! On the road was scary but having the instructor who was calm and very supportive on the radio telling what I was doing right and things I needed to improve on made it even better. Got through training and passed! Brilliant! I would definitely recommend West Pennine to any of my friends and family for its knowledge and skills given my the instructors, they deserve a pat on the back! Thanks again!

12 Feb 2015

Hi! I recently passed my CBT at the West Pennine bike school, having never ridden before (or even sat on a bike!). Highly recommended school.

At first a very daunting experience (taking up a late interest in biking) I was made to feel comfortable with an introductory hour or two, running me through the basic bike controls and necessary gear. Which did ease the nerves. Any question I asked was dealt with professionally, and the instructor understood I was keen to learn as much about biking as possible so expanded on answers. Answering every question I had expertly - I felt the instructor clearly cared about bikes and had a lot of experience in training - I found out he was the person who has been training for the longest over 20 years running.

Then onto the geared Yamaha, I was very much a novice and burnt a lot of rubber (and I think the clutch !) I was pleased to see the instructor taking a keen eye in were I was going wrong off road - and explaining how that would affect me when getting on road.

On road we had a radio set up in which the instructor was clear as to where to go, and how I was doing - and we had regular catch ups, on road in which they would walk me through issues and offer advice going forward.

All-in-all a proper job offered by patient, expert staff - I was pleased to finish the CBT on the day. And I am now thinking about completing my DAS - the CBR 125 I'm on at the moment can't keep up down the country lanes! Thanks again!

25 Oct 2014

It was an absolute pleasure completing my course with you guys, I cannot stress how good the teaching ability of the instructor was, his calm patient manner and is way of instruction is absolutely fantastic he tailors to your needs and has a vast amount of experience to pull from, By far the most professional amount of instruction I have had in a long time. He is a true asset to your company and I am very grateful to have been taught by him but all this comes at a price of getting the brews in. West Pennines reputation is truly built around the instructors, I can't thank you enough for your help.

08 May 2014

As you are aware, yesterday (7th May), I passed my modular 2 motorcycle driving test at the Blackburn DSA test centre.

I wish to express my gratitude to all the staff and instructors at WPM-Training for your professionalism, goodwill and friendship so freely given during my instruction. It had been a most pleasant and informative experience.

Further, I would like to thank my "one on one" instructor Alan, for his unlimited patience, his calm approach to my white line encounters, my indifference to Left and Right commands and for his ability to enjoy the delights at Burger King.

His training methods coupled with his unique style of instruction dovetails exactly to his pupils requirements. He made what at time seem an impossibility, perfectly normal and safe.

I will have no hesitation to recommend your services to my every growing band of "wanna be's" motorcyclists.

Very Best Regards.

Charles Hooghkirk

Just want to say a massive thank you to Dave and Yvonne for all your help and patience with me this week especially over all the trouble with my driver number (go easy on Alan i think he might be dyslexic, only joking).

Please pass on a Huge thanks to Alan for all his help and tuition, he's an absolute gent and i really couldn't have got to test standard without him, he's taught and improved my riding and safety so much a thank you doesn't merit how much it means to have my licence because of him and Dave.

All the best for the future and please pass on a link for any review sites you use cos I'm more than happy to give a glowing report of my time at your riding school

Kindest regards

Jonathan Watson

12 Mar 2014

Pass on my thanks to everyone down at the training centre too, they all had some input into my training. Dave gave me a good speaking too this morning because of a culmination of basic errors but thankfully I'd settled down for the test.

All the best for the future!

To All The Guys At West Pennine

I'd not rode a bike for 15 years. I took my CBT Saturday. The following Thursday took my theory and hazard perception. Under advice from you booked a 4 day course. Did 2 days riding the following Saturday and Sunday took my Mod 1 Tuesday and finally passed my test Thursday. 12 days from start to finish. If it wasn't for the skill and dedication of everyone at West Pennine that would never have happened. Thank you All for your patience and professionalism. What a great Team thank you again.

08 Jan 2013

I just wanted to thank you for all the support I received from the instructors during my training with you. Terry was great and I'd like to say a special thanks to Chris who instilled so much confidence in me and taught me the skills I need to ride successfully and pass my modules 1 & 2 to gain aFull bike licence.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend it to anyone thinking of taking it up with you. It was serious training but we had a good laugh along the way too..

Whilst I'm thinking about it, do you have any information on the Advanced Riding Day that you do? I did talk to your instructor Steve back at the training Centre about it briefly yesterday, who told me that he does the training.

I am interested in taking it up, but maybe when the weather is much better ?

03 Dec 2012

Would just like to say a massive thank-you to everyone at west Pennine!!I'm proud to say i passed both my mod1 and mod2 all the instructors were amazing!!! Always had a laugh and were always very friendly!! i would definitely recommend you to others!!!

Hi Yvonne.

I would like to thank everyone at WPM training for helping me through my CBT to MOD 2 test. It was a wet 6 days and the guys guided me through all that I needed to pass and also safe wet weather riding which was a real benefit.

I would recommend that any one wishing to learn to ride make the effort to travel to WPM.

Thanks again

22 May 2012

Alan, Just a quick note to say I couldn't have done it without you. You truly have a gift for tuition. As you were expecting I passed but I didn't beat my record of three minor errors, I got three! Thank you Alan and thank you all at West Pennine Motorcycle training, unbeatable price for top quality training.

Cheers Andy Zatac

17 Mar 2012

Dear Yvonne,

Firstly a big THANK YOU to you for all of your organisational skills. Hard to co-ordinate training and tests from thousands of miles away.

Big thanks and respect to Allen whom gave me the confidence from day 1. His patience and professional attitude was a great attribute to the training centre. Chris and Dave also a big thank you for your generous training tips in enabling me to pass my Mod 2 on the first attempt. Please also pass my regards to Tony at DAS.

I Left the training centre on the morning of passing my MOD 2, picked up my used CBR 600 and rode from Lancaster down to Cardiff that same day. The training from these guys gave me the confidence I required to get straight onto a bike and utilise the skills they gave me.

Thank you all again.

03 Mar 2012

Hi Yvonne,

I would like to say thank you fir getting my Mod 1 and Mod 2 sorted within a week nothing more I could have asked for!!

Kind Regards

Steve Pollard

27 Jan 2012

Dear all at West Pennine Motorcycle Training, I just wanted to thank you for helping my son (Nathan) to pass his bike test the other week. From calling you to enquire, to him passing his test took less than two weeks! Very friendly people. Nathan spoke very highly of his instructors and loved the whole experience. Not bad for a seventeen year old! In my mind you are the backbone of the motorcycle industry. Giving new riders a positive experience whilst battling the elements (in east Lancs) year round. Very well done and thanks again.

Kind regards,

Pete Austin.

14 Sep 2011

Just to say a MASSIVE thank you to all the staff at WPMT for all there hard work, training and advice to get me through my DAS test.

Many thanks again and I shall see you again shortly :)

16 Aug 2011

Hi Dave,

Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for the motorbike training I received from Chris (CBT), John and Steve (DAS), which got me to pass my bike license first time. In the 12weeks since passing I have covered almost two thousand miles from commuting, run outs and touring which has got me to meet new friends, tour new locations, all with a smile on my face (even in rain), and not sat in traffic!

So thank you for organising all the expert guidance and training through the lads which got me out on the bike, I recommend you whenever I can as I am sure you will get my friends out on the road first time!

I'll be back for a days training here and there over time, as my experience progresses just to pick up a few tips to make my riding even smoother and more controlled.

Please pass on my thanks to the lads, and if I see you, or any of them out, I'll shout you a brew and a butty!

Safe riding

14 Aug 2011

Hi Yvonne & team

I am just writing to say thank you and ask if you could my thanks onto Steve.

I came up about 3 weeks ago all the way from Kent; we had the most appalling weather conditions and unfortunately I failed my Mod 1.

However although I failed Steve had given me complete confidence in my riding and that I could pass the test -; I decided to take both Mod 1 & 2 by myself on my 125. I passed both of them this week (in the rain -; AGAIN!!). So I would like to say thank you for everything.

Just getting my new bike restricted at the moment and can't wait to get out on it!

Please say a big thank you to Steve for me and I will be recommending you to others.

Kind Regards

Andy Pilbeam

21 Jun 2011

Hi Yvonne,

I meant to send you all a "thank you" email last week after passing my m2, but I was too excited going "bike shopping" to be bothered with mundane things like that...

Please pass on my thanks to Chris for the full Sunday of one-to-one instruction - absolutely kn*****ing, but I think it made all the difference (especially finally getting rid of my dodgy, self-taught, scooter riding habits). Also a big thank you to Steve for getting the core stuff sorted during the week course, then applying the final "polish" on the morning of my test. I suppose I should also thank Dave for sorting out my "dodgy" breaking habits - but I don't want any thanks to go to his head... :-) Seriously, it was good to hear that Ian passed OK - I was quite worried for a while when he collapsed... I did a shift with the ambulance service last Saturday night and told the guys about what happened - they seem to think I "engineered" Ian collapsing just to show I was actually some use even if I couldn't ride a bike at that stage...

I took delivery of my ER-6F today -I just took it to the garage to fill up with petrol, but managed to do a 45 mile round trip just "to make sure everything was OK...." (the shape of things to come possibly). If you need a testimonial for your web-site, please let me know. Also, if you feel like you'd want to advertise directly to HM Forces, either to guys approaching resettlement at the end of their military careers, or guys who are still in via the military discounts brochure/web-site (maybe a way to fill-up business during those long winters ??) give me a shout and I'll point you in the right direction.

Thanks again

25 May 2011

Thank you very much for all my training. I was so pleased to pass both modules first time! I surprised myself and my boyfriend! I have put a deposit down on an 04 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer. They are going to lower the suspension and seat for me because it is a little higher than the Honda CB400 I learnt on with you.

Anyway, I was very impressed with your training. At first I was a little upset (being a creature of habit) with the change of trainer on the third day but in the end it worked out perfectly. Steve was excellent for the first two days. He provided lots of chat over the radio which really drummed in all the observation and road positioning. He was happy to answer all my questions so that I could properly understand the reasons behind all the observations and road positioning. He was also very patient and calm if I made an error and the module one preparation was great. I got a lot of handy tips which kept me calm through m test. In my opinion he is an excellent trainer and really suited my style of learning. Then on the third day I was taken out by Chris. After two days of being guided quite heavily Chris's tuition was just what I needed. Not too much chat and so I knew that when I was carrying out the timely observations and road positioning, I was doing it of my own accord and without intervention.

The day of my module one I has yet another trainer, Alan. He helped me perfect my emergency braking just prior to the test and he really helped me to feel confident that I had it sewn up.

Then the scariest day ... my module two! Chris again and he really helped by keeping me calm. He also gave me a great bit of advice just prior to the test about not signaling too early (as he had noticed on the ride up to the test centre I had been signaling at the same time as observing). This bit of advice saved me from a fail. The examiner was impressed with my "making progress" and country lane cornering both of which I have Steve to thank for.

So thanks a lot for all your assistance. I would not hesitate in recommending West Pennine to friends. Once I've got used to my Fazer I may well sign up for some Advanced Training but for now I am looking forward to going out unsupervised next week! ;-)

Charlotte Coles.

Hello Yvonne

Please could you pass on my deepest thanks to Steve, Alan, Dave and Yvonne for the tuition I received which enabled me to pass both modules first time .I can honestly say that the whole experience with WPM was fantastic from start to finish. Special thanks due to Steve for giving me the confidence to tackle Mod 1. I would strongly recommend WPM to anyone interested in taking up motorcycling for the first time or retraining and I wish you all the best of luck for the future at your new location ,I will call round on my travels .

Thanks Tom Reid (new, proud owner of a gorgeous black Suzuki GSF Bandit)

PS. Feel free to quote this on your web site cheers guys

13 Oct 2010

After just 1 day of (expert) tuition I passed my Mod 2. Even on the 1st day of the new test! I can't thank everyone enough!

I booked B&B, but decided to go home instead. The Mrs was struggling with the babies.

I'm not expecting a refund, but do you think you might be able to arrange for me to take my partner to the B&B at your favourable rates?

The more I save, the sooner I can afford my bike!

Thanks again, everybody!

20 Sep 2010

Just a note to say thank you for all your help in passing my DAScourse. You have achieved something in 3 days which a so called Professional school up here in Scotland couldnít. Thanks to all instructors especially Alan whose use of the words "Interesting way to do that" is so much nicer than "You pillock".

Thanks for everything. Alex

20 Aug 2010

Hello to Dave & Yvonne and all you guys from a very happy Toria! Another lovely wet August day to be out riding.

Just a quick mail to say thanks for all your help in getting me through my tests! You were all very patient with me while I struggled with U turns and slow stuff, and encouraged me when I was getting better out on the road.

Dave – you did say that by the time I finally passed I would be great with all this tuition – and it's taken me almost exactly a month to get from the start of DAS to passing my test with the waiting days in between.

I was nervous when I saw it was Brian who had failed me the first time who was taking me out for the Mod 2 – but see the attached test report – I actually got through with a clean sheet and NO MINORS!

The Bonneville now has 58 miles on her clock – and I've been out for lots of little rides since I passed on Tuesday!

I found it to be one of the most challenging things – (mentally and physically all at the same time!) I've done, but I enjoyed (almost!) all of it despite the worst July/August weather I've seen in ages.

A special thanks to you, Steve and Alan for all the tuition and tips, fun and banter along the way. And sorry to Chris for scaring him to death with a bear hug when I passed!

Warm regards

Toria J

03 Aug 2010

Hi All,

I was over the moon to pass my test today and cannot thank all at WPM enough. Please pass on my thanks to Dave, Steve, Alan, Yvonne and Chris for all of their advice, guidance and arrangements in what was a pleasurable and informative experience.

We will be seeing you again for my son and for some further training for myself.

See you again soon.

Safe riding.

23 Apr 2010

Dear Yvonne, I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to Dave, Alan, Terry & Steve.I was out in all sorts of wet & snowy weather and the support they gave me helped me tremendously. Fortunately I was able to sitModule 2 on a clear and sunny day which made a vast improvement on all the weather I had in training! Without the help, patience and encouragement from all of the instructors I doubt I would have passed the course so I am extremely grateful to all of them. A special and separate thanks will go to Tony the DSA examiner again without whose encouragement I would not have passed Modules 1 & 2, I would personally advise all would be bikers to come to West Pennine and to ask for Tony to be their examiner, with that package everyone should pass. All I need to do now is find the money to get a bike!!! Once again many thanks for all of your help in organising dates and bookings for me and the Instructors.

Yours sincerely Nicholas

Hi Dave Just wanted to say a BIG Thank You for getting me through my DAS Test this morning. I would also like to thankChris who took me out for two days and Steve whose constant commentary on what I should be doing whilst riding ensured I put it in to practice during my test. I still can't believe I passed with no minors .... it shows the level of training I was given and I am so thankful to each and every one of you. The feeling riding back alone to the training centre after I passed was immense .... a total sense of freedom! It was a rocky start on the 125cc, I couldn't seem to get the hang of the 'U turn' and it wasn't until the Wednesday I managed to get on the 500cc. Everything seemed to click from then on and the extra days training with Steve paid big dividends for me, thanks Steve. I would like to do the ERS in the near future ..... hopefully get a bigger starter bike first then I can make my own way up to Blackburn ... on the motorway:o) Thanks again to everyone involved in helping me get through, I will certainly recommendWPM to any would be motorcyclist who wants professional training.

Hope to see you all soon, a very ecstatic Jason - Liverpool

All the lads,

Its just sunk in that I've passed my full DAS licencetoday and I would like to thank you all for thetraining, advice and support you have given me over the past 4 days. I arrived a novice and now, after the excellent course have come out a confident rider, thanks.

Only issues I have now is when not on a bike and when I want to walk around in a semi circle I tend to bump into my 2 children and into furniturebecause I keep looking to a point i want to end at. Non the less, I can now always escape on a bike. (After the kitchens finished).

Again all, many many thanks. I will recommend to all.

Hello Dave / Yvonne

Well no one was more surprised than me when the DSA Examiner told me I’d passed. (I was a complete novice with no bike experience 5 days ago)

Can I thank both of you and everyone at WPM for making my training relaxing and enjoyable. Everything was so well organised from CBT, theory test, right through to practical test.

Can you pass my thanks onto John who took me through CBT and especially Kevin who took me from CBT through to conversion?

When I gain some more experience I will definitely come back for advanced training.

Best regards to all the instructors

Hello Yvonne

I would like you to pass on this message to Terry, Steve, Alan, Dave & Chris and yourself of course!

I wanted to give you all a big thank you for your persistence and patience getting me through my CBT/Mod I/Mod II tests that I took in October 2012.

I couldn't have done it without your help, encouragement and guidance, especially when I was being a bit dense, struggling to co-ordinate myself and forever forgetting to switch my indicators off!

So, once again, thank you all and I hope to be back to do the ERS next year!

Hi , I promised Chris on Thursday I would Email & pass on my thanks so hear goes : Firstly a big thank-you to all the instructors who had the misfortune to suffer me , Chris took the brunt Including damage to his own bike :-(but he remained chilled & patient throughout , always ready to answer the questions & explain in detail . Then the big fellah , Allen , who's clear advice & demonstration was I believe the reason I got through my MOD 1 , especially that dreaded U turn . Then Terry who really had the bad luck of given me one to one tuition for a whole day.! Not forgetting Yvonne who just's keeps plugging away behind the scenes organising everything , from theory tests through to Mod 2 . Seriously guys , I came on the direct access course having not ridden for over 30 years and with only 5 days to spare I opted to return to take my Mod 2 at a later date. I had a great week despite the weather being "bobbins " and came away with a good grounding and the confidence to return for Mod 2. I did this on Thursday and poor Chris had the task of getting me ready for test and after just a couple of hours "pick up " on a different bike I took mod 2 and the rest his history as they say.! Once again many thanks to all , 1 weeks residential course & a full bike licence later, I would have no hesitation in recommending WPM to friends and colleagues , keep up the good work ! I'd just like to say a big thank you to Dave & all the guys there at West Pennine for helping me complete my DAS mod on Monday 23rd November, and especially to Steve for all your help – i couldn't have asked for a better instructor!

All the best and good luck with the move!

I would just like to thank yourself, Dave and your team for making my DAS an enjoyable and safe course with expert tuition in horrible conditions.. Without you I wouldn't have passed 1st time. I will be recommending you to all future wannabe bikers in the future.

Would just like to say thanks for all your help throughout my training.

13 Oct 2009

Just wanted to say thanks to yourself, Steve, Alan, Chris and Terry for getting me up to speed on a bike and getting me through all the tests. Getting on my bike and riding off on my own feels great. Your training was worth every penny, especially since a trip to work on the bike costs me £8, compared to about £25 in the RS6. I hope to see you soon for the ERS.

Hi there West Pennine,

I just wanted to write and thank Dave and Chris for being so patient with me and getting me through my CBT.

Chris taught me for my very first session and as a complete novice I was struggling a bit with clutch control and co-ordinating everything in the pouring rain!

I came back for 2 hours yesterday (on a lovely sunny day!) to do some additional training and some more road experience. At first I was very nervous and kept doing all the wrong things – but Dave was very patient, giving practical and down to earth advice, and by the time I came back from my road training I was doing OK and starting to enjoy myself. Now it's great to think I can go out and practice on my own and get some real experience as an official Learner!

Thanks a lot.

29 Jul 2009

Dave just a quick mail to thank you and your staff on my recent direct access course. i took the 4 day option and thanks to Chris, Allen and especially Steve who helped me with the difficult slow stuff i passed module 2 first time. All the best for the future, I had a great time and it was well worth the daily commute from West Yorkshire.

Just want to say a massive thanks to Steve, Allan and Chris who all helped me to pass my bike test. They are excellent instructors and I'm grateful for there tuition i wouldn't have passed without it.

Thanks to everyone.

22 Jun 2009

First of all ‘Thank You’ from a very satisfied customer. I've just successfully completed my Module 1 and Module 2 DAS with passes first time. You and the team took a complete novice and in 6 days transformed me into a competent rider (at least competent enough to pass!). Time, money and effort well spent from my side.

Secondly I want you to know what a great team you have. From Yvonne who managed my many questions and difficult booking before the course, through to all of the instructors – Chris, Terry, Alan & Steve. All of the team were incredibly patient with my many faults. In particular I was impressed by the personal nature of the course. You & the instructors really sort to understand what I needed and adapted the training routes and schedules to meet my needs. Truly an inspirational team. I would especially like to highlight and thank Alan – who not only has the biggest hands in the north of England , but also has the patience of a saint!

Thank you again. I will always remember my time with WPM.

Thanks for all your help getting me through my test on the 2nd March at the second attempt.

Special thanks to Terry who ‘knocked me into shape’ and to Steve who fine tuned things on the day of the test.

Thanks again,

Many thanks for the superb training today by Steve. Steve suggested some additional training on a larger bike would be a good idea. Any chance of a few hours next Sunday morning on one of your 500,s? What sort of costs?

Regards, Stuart.

To all the staff at West Pennine. I cant believe i passed and with only 1 minor mark. for someone who has never ridden a motorcycle before in their life i feel i have done very well and could only have done it with the training i received. I'd like to thank Terry who trained me in my CBT and got all my manoeuvres 1st time on the car park. Steve and Allen who trained me in the days leading to my test. The training as absolutely first class and your instructors are a credit to the company. Hope to see you all again soon when my partner buys me a bike.

keep up all the good work

Stuart Williamson.

01 Dec 2008

I am just emailing to say a big thank you to everyone at West Pennine for their help and getting me through my test first time today.

I took the 3 day CBT to DAS license which at first I thought was a bit of a gamble but with particular help from Steve on the first day and Chris on the second day they made sure I knew everything needed for the exam. I would also like to thank Dave who gave me a very good prep lesson just before my test and made sure everything was up to scratch.

Overall I appreciate all the hard work all you guys put it and hope the company continues with its success.

Thank you again

A note of thanks for getting me through the DAS. I'm still smiling a day later.

Living in Leeds I had a bit of a commute to get to you but it was worth it.

Special thanks to Allan and Steve for their constructive tuition.

Now it's time to get a bigger bike, and I'll be back for the next course to enhance my skills.

Hi Yvonne/Dave Just wanted to say 'thanks' for thinking of me Tuesday night and offering me the place Weds-Fri. As you know I passed first time - so it wasn't wasted, and was pretty good given my less than stellar back end of last week! At least it all came together for a great weekend, making Wednesday and Thursday on the big bike much easier than i expected. Please pass on my regards and thanks to the whole team - I think I spent a day each with most of them(!) Everyone was great, but I'd especially thank Steve and Keri (no idea how to spell it!) for the last few days. My Hornet arrives Wednesday - cant wait!

take care Nick

Hi Lynne,

Just a quick email to thank Dave, Chris, Steve and Alan for their time and efforts in getting me through my DAS course. Great to have spent some hours in the saddle with them all and well worth it. Thanks again guys.

I have attached a photo of the local bike transport here in Pakistan. Personally I think they need some training in proper control and the use of the correct safety equipment !

Thanks again guys, I really enjoyed it.

11 Aug 2008

Hi Dave and crew,

Just dropping you a line to thank you all for your expertise, patience and professionalism during my 4 day D A S course. For you all to get me through in that time is awsome. Only god knows what my instructor was thinking as I dropped the 500cc bike 3/4 of an hour before my test. Not only that but snapped the front brake lever in the process....SORRY. Thought I would never pass my u turn part after that. Again thanks a million, highly recommended to all I speak to...

Best regards Mr S J Ross

08 Aug 2008

Just a few lines to everyone at West Pennine following my successfulDAS Test today 8/8/08. I hadn't been on a motorcycle for over 25 years but I have been trainedat various levels driving police vehicles (including pursuit training) and would say that all the instructors that tutored me over the past week with yourselves have been as professional if not more so than all my previous training. They wereclearly very well trained and their techniques were second to none. I really can't praise them enough. Perhaps them most obvious thing is how enthusiastic they all seemed, and I'm sure it can be difficult with some of us newbies ! Special mentions for Alan and Steve, without both I am sure I would have failed. Thanks again. The Canadian Stand up even helped !!

You really do have a great team.

I would recommend you without hesitation.

just a quick note to say a big thank you to all the instructors for helping me pass my test today (10/7/8) on the big bike with only 2 minors.

A special thanks to Alan who in the last 2 days sorted out my rear obs technique and U turns.

May well see you again in the future when I get a bike for a bit of additional training.

Thanks again

Dear WPM

Just a quick note to so many thanks for the direct access course I completed Last week.

You are well advertised, friendly on the phone and literally sort everything for the customer.

I chose the 5 day direct access course, on Day 1 the CBT I really thought 3 days later I wouldn’t be walking away having passed my full test on a 500cc and only 1 minor.

I would like to say a special thanks to Kerry and Chris who worked hard with me to iron out my bad habits and take me on some very memorable rides across the Pennines.

The course was great value at £600 including accommodation and a great Irish fry up.

Having worked in extreme cameras for the last 7 years I would like to offer my services at any point to return the favour. I can supply camera mounts and cameras to provide DVD’s or online footage that you may require. Myself and an assistant can come and film teaching sessions or advanced riding sessions at a suitable time which may produce some great images for your website or even a DVD brochure for the school.

Once again I owe you guys and many thanks for the great few days.

Still haven’t picked a bike yet but sure ill be back for some advanced training soon.

Just a quick note to say a massive Thank Youto all the team at West Pennine for the excellent DAS course I have attended and successfully completed this week. I passed my practicle test today with only 4 minors ( 3 of those were down to nerves ). The knowledge, guidence and confidence that Steve, Alan & Chris have given me will prove invaluable for years of safe riding. Thanks once again and all the best for the future.

30 Apr 2008

Hi David,

F**K me! I passed my test first time!

Honestly now, big thanks to Alan, Kev, Chris and yourself for the patient training, and good instruction.

Your content and quality of training is far superior to that I experienced over here in Liverpool, and it was that, that saw me thru in the test.

Thanks again to everyone, I’ll try not kill myself in my first week on my ZXR.

Best regards,

17 Apr 2008

Hi there, I just thought I'd drop you a quick mail just to thank all the guys for the training I received over the last few days. I had my test today

and passed (admittedly with a second chance at the U-Turn as my foot went down and was given another go) The training was really good and all the instructors were patient and really put me at ease as the nerves were getting to me on the day of my test.

Thanks again Andy Rogers.

19 Mar 2008

Hi All at WPMT,

I would like to thank you for all the support, especially Alan for day 1 and CBT and Kev, he put me through it for 2 days, but got me through my test successfully.

I am now looking for a bike, there is such a lot to choose from!!

I had a great 4 days with you guys, enjoyed every minute.

05 Mar 2008

I thought some feedback you might like to use on your website was in order

I started a 6 day residential DAS course with West Pennine as a total novice. In the first instance I could barely put the bike into first gear, let alone steer it. Slowly but surely I began to gain confidence and was patiently guided through the process of learning to ride a bike. At the end of the first day, I'd ridden on the roads and passed my CBT. Throughout the following days I passed my theory test and progressed to the point where I could step up to the 'big' bike. This was in no small part thanks to the patient tuition of Alan who took the time to explain exactly where I was going wrong with my clutch control. This was the turning point. All the instructors at West Pennine were professional and approachable and they each had an impact on my development as a rider. On the 6th day I passed in appalling conditions, hail and light snow making for a real challenge. Without the expertise of the West Pennine guys I wouldn't have made it. From zero to hero in 6 days- thanks guys.

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to express my sincerest thanks for all your help. I went from having never ridden a geared bike before to passing my DAS test with only one minor in 5 days.

The training I received was brilliant. I would like to thank Chris for taking me through my CBT and teaching me the basics and then Steve for taking me for the remaining days and developing my skills so I was a safe rider.

Thanks once again for your help and I shall be contacting yourselves for a day of training when I buy my bike.

Kind regards,

I’ve just completed a five day DAS course and would just like to say a great big thanks to all that helped me pass my test and fulfil a long burning ambition to ride a motor cycle.

The instructors have the patience of saints!!! they took me from a complete novice to a confident rider in a relatively short period of time.

I struggled with U turns and indicator cancelling but with the help of the instructors that’s a thing of the past now.

Can I ask that you pass on my thanks to all the instructors and I hope to see them again for advanced training some time in the future.

Also, there was a lady on the course with me called Amanda, can you let me know if she passed or not?

Thanks again…

Hi I booked to take my CBT last week and had no idea what to expect,I was very nervous about taking it, I arrived on Sat 15th in -2 Degrees teeth chattering weather,I have never been so cold! I took the CBT on my own new 125cc Bike having never ridden a bike before. So I got to the test centre at the Golf range and everyone was really polite and helpful,I took my CBT along with 2 other lads, all the time I am thinking "I am the only girl here" but that didnt seem to matter. I was Introduced to Alan who then took all three of us through the training on the car park, how patient is this man? he was brilliant with all of us,after going through the controls of the bike and safety clothing etc,it was time to get on the bikes,we went round and round cones, trying different situations and scenarios,I was sooo nervouse but gradually with Alans expert tuition I settled in to it and took on board everything he told me,the final thing of the morning was u-turns,could I get that bike to do a u-turn? no! I tried and tried and tried again eventually after Alan guided me and instructed me and probably just about lost his voice, I did it! Yeah.. time for Dinner and to proceed to another part of the CBT, oh and a very Hot Chocolatedrink. So we set off to go out on the road with our ear pieces in place and off we went, all the time the only thing I could think was "all the traffic from Christmas shoppers in Blackburn town centre"! but anyway I will cross that bridge when I get to it,so we went out for ages, and it was freezing cold,by this time I couldn't feel my fingers or toes. After stopping for a quick brew,de-frost and rest ,off we wenttothat dreaded town centre, but under Alan's expert tuition and constant radio contact in my ear I did it,we actually went through major traffic in the centre, and every hazard you could possibly think of came at us,shoppers, taxis, buses, cars etc,but we did it and it was great fun,we arrived back at the test centre and all that was left to do was to sign the certificate and I couldn't stop smiling, brilliant I have done it,something I have been wanting to do for years as my Husband took his full motorbike test with West Pennine and he 100% recommended you ,we want to go out for bike rides, now we can. what a great day. So thankyou to Alan who's patience is never ending and his knowledge of his subject is excellent and the passion he has for motorcycling is inspiring, have a great Christmas Alan andeveryone at West Pennine and I will be back to take my full test within a couple of years (I think).

Merry Christmas Billie-Jean Heaton x

01 Dec 2007

Hello there, Could you please forward this to all concerned, expressing my sincere thanks to the staff at West Pennine, namely Alan and Ste for giving me the necessary expert tuition needed in order for me to past my test, which i previoulsy failed in September this year. On arrival on my days tuition after a lenghty spell away , it was like starting again and once on the bike i wasn't far wrong, i felt like i was using someone else's arms and legs, dreadful is a light hearted word, the truth would maybe offend.. I was nervous, tense, lack of confidence etc etc, however Alan took me on full throttle (so to speak) and with his calm expert tuition, guidance and honesty, my confidence was improving by midday no end. By the end of the day after numerous discussions i told Alan i honestly didnt think i was ready for the test, for those of you who know Alan, he took me to one side and gave me the pep talk to end all pep talks (England manager's stuff) and honeslty told me i was mad if i didnt attend the day after as he was happy with the progress i had made that day and it would be a waste not to. Not once did he buckle under my constant 'self knocking' of my performance, which to be honest he could have quite easily have done, and with this talk gave me the boot up the a**e i really needed. So onto the day of the test, again i was with Alan for 2 hours going through basics, until i was swapped to Ste and went out on the road. His expertise and very calm instruction combined with Alan's basic instruction that morning, gave me the necessary tuition and confidence to pass the test that afternoon. Those 2 instructors are a real credit to West Pennine and please pass this on to them. Once again, many thanks. Craig Lord

11 Nov 2007

Hi all

I am writing to express my sincere thanks to all of you, but extra

specially to Alan and Steve, who managed to turn me from a very under

confident rider (had not ridden for 16 years following an accident) to a

more than competent, confident and safe rider in just four days. They

had endless patience and offered sound advice (yes even Steve's "Stop

fannying about and get on with it" worked a treat!!). I thoroughly

enjoyed my days with you all and will not hesitate to recommend the

training school most highly to anyone that expresses an interest in

being a safe and knowledgeable rider. I passed my test first time with

only four minor faults so I was even more delighted.

Once again a heartfelt thanks to those wonderful instructors named, and

to everyone involved with West Pennine Training. Long may you continue

to provide such an excellent service to the motorcycling community.

With regards

Firstly can I commend thefacility on its organisation, professionalism and quality of service.

I went from never having been on a motorbike to my fully flegded standard license in a mere 4 days.

Upon arriving on the first day my clutch control was rather interesting but under the expert guidance I was kept on track. I struggled with indicatorcanceling and U-turns started to really get me down, but Alan'spersistence gave me the confidence I personally required in order to fulfill a long term ambition of riding a motorbike. What a great feeling when Mr. Hunt told me I had passed.

Alan is an outstanding instructor, he doesn't miss a thing and continues to remind you which areas you need to improve, but in an encouraging notcondescending manner. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor and was particularly lucky that I had his attention for the entire 4 days.

Alan is a credit to the WPM team and I am sure, had I been placed with any of the other highly competent instructors I would be coming back with similar positive feedback.

My aims are now either; (33bhp restricted) ZXR 400 or an NSR 250 (very smart little pocket rocket) If I manage to pick up one of these collectablespecimens I will no doubt pop down some time to show it off.

Until then can I reiterate my thanks.

Money well spent

All the best in the future,

Joshua Egan

A big, Lankie "Cheers, Pals !" to the staff at WP-M Training for all your help and patience last April-May.

In particular, a Massive Thanks to Chris M. for his tenacious and resolute tuition in getting an old('ish) novice-biker on the Public Highway and for teaching lots of necessary skills for the A2 Practical, during my 4-day intensive course. OK - so I turned out to be the ONLY WP-MT candidate NOT to pass on that day, but my only dastardly failure was me being overcome by my fears (again !) - my old demons of U-turning and v.low speed maneouvering (50-odd mph careering along country lanes / dual carriageways was a BREEZE !). If only I wouldn't have toppled over at 0.001mph whilst U-turning ON MY TEST ! - I too would've passed.

Having put those 4 days' of tuition into practice over the next 4 months I've had 2nd go and PASSED my full A2 test !

The attitude and approach of particularly Chris gave me an excellent start and now I'm biking each & every single day and LOVING IT ! (- my car's used once a week now, if that).

I really enjoyed my course and my stay in the vicinity and I thought the standard and ambiance of your B&B accommodation was 2nd to none. MANY THANKS GUYS (& YVONNE) ! I'll definitely recommend you to friends.

28 Aug 2007

Morning Yvonne,

I had the great pleasure of attending a 6 day DAS course at WPM in April. Having never ridden a bike before, I was thrilled to pass the course with flying colours.

Now that a little bit of time has passed, I wanted to pass along my thoughts on the course and the people who helped me. First of all, I was petrified on my first day as I didn’t know what to expect. All the instructors were very friendly and make me feel at ease.

I would like to thank Alan, who brought me past my initial nervousness and taught me the fundamentals. I was very surprised how quickly I came along and by lunchtime of the second day, I was just riding…. Without having to think about everything I was doing. He taught me how to do emergency stops properly aswell as the dreaded turn in the road. I also rode pillion with Alan & picked up some good tips on the way back to the B&B.

I spent one day with Kevin before the test. He helped me bring my riding ability beyond the standard required for the DAS test. It was a tough day, as Kevin pointed out, passing the test doesn’t make you a good rider, there is always room for improvement. I haven’t forgotten that.

I also have to thank Steve who was my instructor when I moved onto the big bike. He reinforced all the skills & reminded me to “get a move on” when we went out into the quiet country roads. He also taught me the skill of filtering through traffic tailbacks. “Because, after all”, said Steve, “we’re on chuffing bikes”. After four days of riding, I was thrilled how far I came along. I didn’t feel nervous at all when riding. On the morning of the test, Steve brought me out and went through all the tough manoeuvres on a variety of surfaces. Although I didn’t believe him at the time, the test was over before I knew it. There were no surprises as I had done everything a hundred times before.

Now that 4 months have passed, I want to say that I think I have an advantage over most riders. Because I hadn’t ridden a bike before, I didn’t have any bad habits. The techniques I learned from Alan, Kevin and Steve have stayed with me, as I don’t know any other way. I can’t recommend WPM highly enough. Especially to complete novices. I am now the happy owner of a Honda Shadow 750 and I am learning all the time. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again when I’m over that direction.

Thanks a million for everything,

Greg Ward

Dave, Yvonne,

Just a quick email to say thank you.

I had never ridden a motorbike before and I was a little wary, I had no need to be, your instructors are fantastic.

The two instructors I had, Alan and Chris were great, their patience extra-ordinary.

I would like to say a special thank you to Chris who instructed me after my CBT to test, he is a credit to training school, even though I was making simple mistakes he never got angry, was always helpful and encouraging.

After passing my test last Friday and chatting with the examiner, we mentioned West-Pennine and that I had been very happy with the tuition, he said he also had to visit the training site occasionally and that he was also impressed with yourselves.

I would gladly recommend West-Pennine to anyone I know who is considering learning to ride.

Once again Thank You

Hello Guys, Just a quick note to say a BIG thank you for all your help in helping me pass my test, may I add a FAULT FREE pass as well, Dave, Steve, John and Chris you are all real gentlemen, your professional manner and constant tuition is faultless. When I got back from passing, there was only Steve at the site, so a MASSIVE thank you once again to all of you, I felt a little sad when leaving knowing I most probably won't be seeing you guy's again. I wish you all the very best. I will certainly be passing on your telephone and details to my friends who are looking at doing the same DAS course.

Best wishes to everyone, Steve R.

Hi guys,

just a quick email to say thanks for all the help and effort over the last 4

days. I cant thank you enough! Managed to pass the test without any

problems, all down to your expert tuition and peristance. Particular thanks

to Steve and Alan who supervised me on my training. I will definately be

recommending the school to others, a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere

coupled with some top class tuition. I actually felt sad after the test that

i wouldnt be riding around with you guys any more. I guess now i will have

to go my own way! :-)

Thanks again!

Steve B.

PS - Alan loaned me a magazine and i realised i have given him the wrong one

back. Found his on my table when i got in. If there is an address i can post

it back to please let me know and i'll pop it back via the post. Cheers.

Also if you find the one i left instead i would be grateful if you could

possibly do the same as that too was on loan from a friend. Thanks

Just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you all for getting me through my 5 day CBT/ DAS course. I did wonder at the start of the week whether it would be achievable but the quality of the training given and the trainers themselves does put you in the best position to pass.

Please would you pass on my thanks and regards to all your instructors who helped me

Thanks to you all again.

Hi Dave,

As yours is the only e-mail I have, this mail is really aimed to you and your team. There are so many things which I will never forget (Bloody Gyroscope) (turning my indicators off) I am now checking that my car indicators are turned off correctly. The list could go on. Your team are great and I feel I have met some great people and would enjoy at anytime to ride with any of them. So this is acknowledgement that you have a professional business with good guys who enjoy a good laugh.

I have been out on my bike Saturday and Sunday with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it, even making progress along country roads (That’s your doing)

I would love to come and spend a day with any guy to go for a good spin including motorway driving. A Saturday would be preferable.

My good friend Stu would also be interested in doing the same course as me and may come down on the same day to have a little chat.

Thanks again for the pass certificates.

Hi to all concerned - just a quick note to say thanks for the enjoyable 4 days I spent up there with you - I think the continuous rain was a small price to pay!! Chris - the first day for the cbt was great, you gave me confidence in riding and made it all seem easy. Phil - what can I say?? Two days spent training with you was valuable experience for me. I used what you taught me and therefore had no problems with the test. You said that you expected a clean sheet from me, but I don't like it when you are always right, so I got a single minor to prove you wrong!! Who cares - I passed!! Dave - you gave me the last drilling before the test, I think you most probablyteach a higher level than the test itself, but the hour or so I spent with you was definately worth it. Of course, not forgetting John who keeps the bikes maintained to a high level - thanks, you are doing a great job there. I am back in Maidstone, where the sun is shining and I am not back to work until Monday, so I am just waiting for the insurance guys to open up shop and then I'll be out on my bike in dry weather. Don't know if you guys know what it's like to ride in dry weather, but I'll let you know!! If it is possible, could someone also thank Tony at the B&B for me as I didn't get his email address.

Once again, thanks to all concerned.

Regards Brian Smith

Hi there,

Can you pass on my thanks to all at West Pennine as, after never getting on a bike till six days ago, I passed my DAS test today at the first time of asking. No one was more surprised than me when the examiner told me the good news!

Special thanks to Chris who introduced me to bikes, Dave who introduced me to big bikes and also who didn't get too worked up when I rode into that lamppost on Tuesday and got me back safely afterwards (that was my first pillion ride ever as well!), Phil for showing me that there was hope after that mishap and who then made me think that I could do it after all and Dave who helped keep my nerves down this morning before my test, especially when I lost the plot when it came to U turns.

The U turn in the test went perfectly, but then I was so relieved that I nearly missed cancelling two indicators just afterwards. Just got away with that and am now officially a biker!

Thanks again for this weeks experience, I'd recommend you to anyone who is thinking about taking up biking without hesitation,
